DEVELOPMENT OF THE F1 SL 025

The success of the F1sl 2023 and 2024 was obvious. Podium at the Defi Wind 2023, podiums and wins at the PWA 2’023\2024 have proved it. The development team, has been tirelessly tuning the sails at each event, adjusting cam and batten tensions to achieve the ideal setup for performance. Each detail of the sail has been optimized through intense testing. Is a sail you would sit in the evening after dinner with the riders, and you start staring at each corner to look for the mistake to correct. It’s like taking sand paper and shaping it as you would do it on a custom board. Feeling pressure on the whole sail with the hand, twisting it with the mast, checking the videos to see with the gusts how the sail behaves.

Key Features and Updates for 2025:

Redesigned Leach for Improved Wind Flow: The full leach (the trailing edge of the sail) has been redesigned to enhance the funneling of wind as it exits the sail. This refinement improves both stability and speed, two critical factors for foil racing.

Sleek and Lighter Outline: The sail’s outline has undergone a major redesign, featuring a smaller, faster head. This makes the sail feel significantly lighter and more responsive, enhancing its agility and speed on the racecourse.

Shorter Boom for Faster Transitions: The boom has been shortened up to 4to12cm  to improve jibing speed and reduce transition time. Despite the smaller size, the sail maintains a neutral feel, allowing for controlled and efficient maneuvers without compromising on power.

Increased Speed, Lighter Weight, and Maintained Power: With the new outline, shorter boom, and refined leach, the F1 SL 2025 combines faster speeds and a lighter feel, all while preserving its power. These changes ensure a competitive edge without sacrificing performance in key areas.

Exclusivity with Pre-Orders: The F1 SL 2025 will be available for pre-order, offering enthusiasts the opportunity to secure one of these innovative sails ahead of time.

Special Masts for Foiling: Last year, Point-7 created special masts designed to meet the unique needs of foiling, where the sail must fly smoothly over a flat surface. These masts are distinct from traditional windsurfing masts, which need to absorb chop and pressure from the fin. The F100 mast line has been introduced, further enhancing the performance of the F1 SL for foil racing.

Anti-UV Laminate for Enhanced Reflex: A new Anti-UV laminate has been incorporated into the F1 SL 2025 sail, helping to reduce weight and improve the reflex of the full rig. This provides faster response times and greater durability under harsh conditions.

The F1 SL 2025 is poised to continue Point-7’s dominance in foil racing with innovative design updates focused on lightness, speed, and performance. The redesigned leach, new outline, and shorter boom will make the sail even more responsive and agile, giving competitors a clear advantage. The new F100 masts and Anti-UV laminate further enhance the rig’s performance, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of innovative foiling technology. Don’t miss the chance to secure your F1 SL 2025 sail through the exclusive pre-order opportunity.
