Point-7 / Q-Bond technology

Full Q-Bond.

Real innovation.

A different way to connect every structural panel. A cleaner sail body. A compact, reactive feel that puts the construction where it belongs: at work on the water.

2026 Collection debut

The first fully Q-Bonded production windsurf sail.

Developed with Mattia Mojoli and introduced with the 2026 collection. A full construction change, carried from development into the sails you ride.

01 / Inside the construction

The breakthrough
is in the bond.

Q-Bond connects overlapping panels with an adhesive tape activated by ultrasonic energy. Material selection, joint design and controlled activation work together to create the connection.

01 / PREPARE

Overlap the panels.

Q-Bond tape sits between the overlapping sail panels. The joint is prepared for the materials being connected.

02 / ACTIVATE

Put ultrasound to work.

The activation tool applies ultrasonic energy. This melts the adhesive within the joint so it can bond to the panel surfaces.

03 / CONNECT

Build the bond.

As the adhesive sets, the overlap becomes a bonded structural joint. Precise settings and careful workmanship are essential to the result.

Full Q-Bond describes the sail's structural construction. Cosmetic finishing may still include stitching.

02 / Choose your construction

Stitched vs
full Q-Bond.

Two ways to build a Point-7 sail. Here is what changes in the structure and what you can expect in your hands.

What changes Stitched Proven construction. Full Q-Bond A new structural approach.
Panel joins Overlapping panels are connected with stitching and thread. Overlapping panels are connected with Q-Bond adhesive tape activated by ultrasonic energy.
Structure & reinforcement Stitched seams use thread and reinforcement appropriate to the sail's design and loads. Bonded structural joins allow less stitch-related reinforcement and material build-up.
Feel & response The established response and power delivery of the model's stitched construction. A more compact, direct feel, with quicker reflex as the load changes.
Pumping & manoeuvres Familiar handling through pumping, gybes and changes of direction, influenced by your rig setup. Designed for a lighter feel as you pump, rotate and reposition the rig.
Construction weight Thread and seam reinforcement contribute to the complete sail's weight. Reduced stitch-related material helps reduce weight. Check the specifications for the same model and size.
Choose it for Established stitched construction and the model's proven sailing characteristics. Premium bonded construction focused on compact response and lighter handling.

Compare the same model and size. Actual weight, specifications and construction options vary across the range. Full Q-Bond refers to structural panel joins; cosmetic finishing may still include stitching.

03 / The reason we built it

The difference is
in your hands.

Innovation earns its place on the water. Our development focus is a connected sail body, quicker reflex and easier handling as the load changes.

A compact feel.

Bonded structural joins reduce the movement associated with stitching holes and threads, helping the sail feel more connected.

A sharper response.

Reflex matters when the pressure changes. The aim is a sail that responds promptly and keeps its shape working for you.

Lighter handling.

The difference comes through in how the rig moves: when you pump, change direction and bring the power back in.

04 / The people behind the change

Built by people
who push further.

Construction expertise. Product development. Time on the water. The work comes together in a sail that has to deliver when you take hold of the boom.

Every detail
has a job.

The bond is one part of the whole sail. Panel layout, material thickness, reinforcement and flexibility work together. Our UV-resistant laminates are another part of that material choice. Every change has to make sense in the finished sail.

What does “full Q-Bond” mean?

The structural panel joins use Q-Bond construction throughout the sail. Cosmetic finishing can still include stitches, so a visible stitch does not by itself identify the structural joining method.

Does Q-Bond use adhesive?

Yes. Q-Bond tape contains adhesive. Ultrasonic energy activates it within the overlap, creating the bond between the panels. The tape, compatible materials and controlled activation are all part of the system.

Is every model available in Q-Bond?

The range above shows the models with Q-Bond construction. Options differ by model and size. Check the construction selector and specifications on the individual product page before ordering.

What about the sail materials and UV protection?

Q-Bond is the joining method. The sail's laminates are a separate part of the construction. Point-7 uses UV-resistant laminates to help protect the material, while panel choice and thickness contribute to the sail's response.

Can I get help with inspection or repair?

Yes. Contact the Point-7 team with the model, a description of the issue and clear photographs. We can help you arrange an appropriate assessment. Visit Parts & Repair .

Which Q-Bond sail is right for me?

Start with your discipline, usual conditions and existing rig. Check the model's mast and rigging specifications, or talk directly to our team for help choosing your setup.
