SURFSTAR SLOVAKIA
At Point-7, expanding into new markets means partnering with people who truly understand performance, quality, and the needs of local riders. In Slovakia, Surf-Star.com is helping drive that momentum, bringing Point-7 closer to a growing and passionate windsurf community.
We spoke with the owner Martin, behind Surf-Star to hear why they chose Point-7, their first impressions of the products.
What made you decide to include Point-7 in your product portfolio, and what stood out compared to other brands you carry?
Frankly speaking, Point-7 has always been high performance brand which increases attention wherever you are. However, as your portfolio expands from wave to slalom and foil, also mainstream riders start to consider Point-7 sails. Also, Q-bond technology which you are using is very unique, and has big future potential. In addition, compared to other brands, you’re using high quality monofilms, which are UV resistant and proof your focus on quality.
When you first saw or tested Point-7 products, was there anything that genuinely surprised or impressed you?
When I go windsurfing, and see Point-7 sails, I’m impressed by the level of professionalism of the riders. And as I previously mentioned, the quality of the product is visible at first sight. Manufacturing detail and sewing precision is next level. Testament of high quality are also local riders who have had the same Point-7 sail for more than 8 years, and sail performance is still outstanding.

How do you perceive the Q-Bond technology, where Point-7 is the first to have a full Q-bond body construction?
I think, Q-Bond technology is unique and future-proof. Compared to sewing individual pieces together, in wind gusts Q-bond holds strongly against the wind and you’re getting immediate speed increase with great handing ability too. We’ll need to work on adopting Q-bond technology with customers, as currently it’s bit more expensive, but going forward it can have big competitive advantage.
How has your experience been working with Point-7 in terms of service, communication, and support?
It has been great, at first we had an online video meeting thru Teams app, it was awesome. But, then we met face to face, and I must say it was fantastic – very clear communication, fully transparent and immediate support with all queries. This is very nice example how you are building the trustworthy relationship in business. Both Marco and Andrea are very helpful in terms of expanding full product line-up within Europe. I really appreciate such relationships.
What has been the initial feedback from your customers, and how would you describe your first sales experience with Point-7 products?
I immediately added Point-7 products to Surf-Star.com eshop, both new 2026 models and also 2025 with discounted promo pricing. I also wrote an article about Point-7 on Windsurf.sk portal and posted into Facebook feeds too. Initial feedback from customers is very positive. They are curious and asking about Q-bond and other unique features. I must admit, when you have unique selling points and features, then customers react quickly. I’m excited about building Point-7 business in Slovakia
