SPORTLINK TARIFA

At Point-7, we believe that strong partnerships are built on shared passion, experience, and a clear vision of performance. That’s why we’re proud to work with Sportlink Tarifa, one of our key dealers in Spain, led by ex PWA racer Ramon, with Stefano as shop manager.

Located in one of Europe’s most iconic windsurfing destinations, Sportlink is more than just a shop, it’s a hub for riders who demand the best. We sat down with the team to talk about their journey, their first impressions of Point-7, and how our products are being received on the water in Tarifa.

What made you decide to include Point-7 in your product portfolio, and what stood out compared to other brands you carry?

At Sportlink Tarifa, we carefully select brands that bring something truly distinctive to the market. Point-7 immediately stood out for its strong identity, uncompromising performance focus, and clear positioning within the high-performance windsurf segment.

What really made the difference for us is how Point-7 combines innovation, design, and race-proven performance into a very cohesive product range. Compared to other brands, Point-7 has a very bold and recognizable DNA, which is something our customers value when they are looking for top-tier equipment with personality.

When you first saw or tested Point-7 products, was there anything that genuinely surprised or impressed you?

Yes, definitely. The first thing that impressed us was the level of refinement in both design and construction. The products feel extremely well thought-out, not only in terms of performance but also durability and finishing details.

On the water, what really stood out was the direct and efficient power delivery, combined with a very controlled and stable feeling even in demanding conditions. This balance is not easy to achieve, and it clearly reflects the brand’s racing background and development process.

How do you perceive the Q-Bond technology, where Point-7 is the first to have a full Q-bond body construction?

We see Q-Bond as a very interesting step forward in sail construction. From a retailer and technical perspective, innovations like this are key because they directly impact durability, weight distribution, and long-term performance.

Being the first brand to implement a full Q-Bond body construction shows Point-7’s commitment to pushing boundaries. For our customers, this translates into equipment that is not only high-performance but also reliable over time, which is a crucial factor, especially in demanding spots like Tarifa.

Has your experience been working with Point-7 in terms of service, communication, and support?

Our experience so far has been very positive. Communication has been clear, direct, and efficient, which is something we highly value in a brand partnership.

We also appreciate the openness and willingness to collaborate, which is essential when introducing a new brand into a competitive and technical market like ours. Having a responsive and supportive team behind the products makes a real difference on a day-to-day basis

What has been the initial feedback from your customers, and how would you describe your first sales experience with Point-7 products?

The initial feedback from our customers has been very encouraging. Many riders are immediately attracted by the strong visual identity, but what really convinces them is the performance on the water.

Our first sales experience has been positive, especially among more advanced and performance-oriented riders who are looking for something different and high-end. There is clear curiosity and growing interest, which we believe will continue to develop as more people get the chance to test the products.

As a former PWA rider, what inspired you to transition from competing at the highest level to opening Sportlink in Tarifa?

My transition from competing on the international circuit, including events like the PWA World Tour, to founding Sportlink in Tarifa was a very natural evolution rather than a radical change.

After years of traveling, competing, and being deeply immersed in the sport, I developed a strong understanding not only of high-performance equipment, but also of what riders actually need in real conditions. Tarifa, being one of the most iconic windsurfing destinations in Europe, felt like the perfect place to build something meaningful.

Together with Serena, we didn’t just want to open a shop , we wanted to create a hub for the wind and water sports community. A place where passion, experience, and honest advice come together. Sportlink was born from that idea: bridging the gap between elite-level knowledge and everyday riders looking to progress and enjoy the sport.

How has your experience as a professional windsurfer shaped the vision and product selection of your shop?

My years as a professional rider fundamentally shaped how we approach both our vision and our product selection at Sportlink. Having tested equipment at the highest level, you become extremely sensitive to details: performance, durability, consistency, and innovation. But more importantly, you learn that the “best” gear is not universal; it depends on the rider, the conditions, and the goals. That’s exactly the philosophy we apply in the shop. Every brand we bring in , including POINT-7 , must meet very strict criteria: technical performance, strong identity, and real added value for the rider. We don’t aim to have everything; we aim to have the right things. Products that we trust, test, and believe in. That’s why our selection is curated, and why customers value our advice , because it comes from real experience on the water, not just from a catalog. Ultimately, our vision is to help riders make better decisions, progress faster, and enjoy the sport at a deeper level.

Why should customers choose to buy Point-7 gear from Sportlink, and do you offer test equipment for riders to try before purchasing?

At Sportlink Tarifa, we don’t just sell products , we offer real experience, technical advice, and a deep understanding of the conditions riders face here.Tarifa is one of the most demanding windsurf destinations in Europe, so our product selection and recommendations are always based on real-world testing. Customers choosing Point-7 through Sportlink benefit from personalized guidance, ensuring they get the right setup for their level, style, and the local conditions. We also strongly believe in “try before you buy.” Whenever possible, we offer test opportunities so riders can experience the performance of Point-7 equipment on the water. This is especially important with high-performance gear, where feeling the product makes all the difference. On a personal note, as an Italian, it has always been a kind of dream for me to have Point-7 in the shop.  For me, the brand represents true quality, a strong “made in Italy” design culture, and a deep attention to detail in every product , values that perfectly match our philosophy at Sportlink. Our goal is not just to sell, but to build long-term trust with our customers by offering the right product, the right advice, and the right support.
