Say hello to Martin Fischer – our new Point-7 agent in Germany!

Martin isn’t just an engineer with 30 years of experience—he’s a true windsurf addict who first touched a board on the Adriatic Sea 40 years ago and never looked back. From stormy sessions on Lake Altmühl to dawn patrols in Malcesine with Andrea, windsurfing has always been his passion.

Now, Martin is bringing that same stoke and know-how to Point-7 in Germany. His mission? To share the Black Team spirit, support riders and shops, and get more people off their phones and onto the water.

Martin ist nicht nur seit über 30 Jahren Ingenieur – er ist auch ein echter Windsurf-Junkie. Vor rund 40 Jahren stand er zum ersten Mal an der Adria auf dem Board und seitdem lässt ihn das Windsurfen nicht mehr los. Ob stürmische Sessions am Altmühlsee oder Frühaufsteherrunden in Malcesine mit Andrea – die Leidenschaft ist immer dabei.

Jetzt bringt Martin diese Begeisterung und sein Know-how zu Point-7 nach Deutschland. Seine Mission? Den Black-Team-Spirit teilen, Rider und Shops unterstützen und noch mehr Leute vom Handy aufs Wasser bringen.

1. Martin, welcome to the Point-7 family! Can you introduce yourself to our community?
2. You come from the automotive industry—how does that experience connect to windsurfing and Point-7?
3. What first drew you to windsurfing, and what keeps you hooked?

1. Hello dear windsurfing community, my name is Martin Fischer, I am a father of two adult sons and live in southern Germany near Stuttgart. About 40 years ago, I stood on a windsurfing board for the first time on the Adriatic Sea in Italy. Since then, I’ve been on the board whenever I can. In addition to my home spot, Lake Altmühl, which can provide some pretty good surfing sessions when there’s a stormy west wind, I’ve been to Fuerteventura, Turkey, Croatia, Greece, Sylt, Barbados, and Egypt—but my heart belongs to Lake Garda. The Malcesine early bird session with Andrea in the morning is always a highlight!
2. Yes, after completing my technical studies, I started working as an engineer in the automotive industry and have now been successfully active in this sector for 30 years.  As Director of Engineering, I enjoy working with my team to realize challenging projects. Even though windsurfing is a much smaller market, there are many parallels—driving innovation and ideas forward at high speed and with great commitment, as well as the necessary flexibility and high standards in customer service.
3. When I saw the first windsurfers on the sea, I was totally impressed. After my first attempts and successful gliding, I was completely hooked. Shooting across the water purely with wind power and a little skill, virtually without any effort, was totally cool and amazing! For me, windsurfing combines a direct connection to nature and the elements, overcoming personal limits, control, and speed. What makes it perfect is being able to experience and share this with friends and like-minded people.

1. Hallo liebe Windsurf-Community, mein Name ist Martin Fischer, ich bin Familienvater von 2 erwachsenen Söhnen und wohne in Süddeutschland in der Nähe von Stuttgart. Vor ca. 40 Jahren stand ich das erste Mal auf einem Windsurfbrett an der Adria in Italien. Seitdem stehe ich auf dem Board, wann immer ich kann. Neben meinem Homespot dem Altmühlsee, der bei stürmischen Westwind ab und zu für recht gute Surfsessions sorgen kann, war ich in Fuerte Ventura, Türkei, Kroatien, Griechenland, Sylt, Barbados und Ägypten unterwegs – aber schlägt mein Herz für den Gardasee. Die Malcesine-Early-Bird-Session mit Andrea morgens ist immer ein Highlight!

2. Ja, nach meinem technischen Studium habe ich als Ingenieur im Automobilbereich begonnen und bin seit mittlerweile 30 Jahren in dieser Branche erfolgreich aktiv.  Ich freue mich, als Director Engineering anspruchsvolle Projekte mit meinem Team zu realisieren. Auch wenn sich der Windsurfbereich als ein deutlich kleinerer Markt darstellt, gibt es viele Parallelen – Innovationen und Ideen mit hoher Geschwindigkeit und Engagement voran zu bringen und zu realisieren, sowie die nötige Flexibilität und der hohe Anspruch in der Kundenbetreuung.
3. Als ich die ersten Windsurfer auf dem Meer beobachtet hatte, war ich total beeindruckt. Nach meinen ersten Versuchen und erfolgreicher Gleitfahrt war ich total angefixt.

4. Why did you choose to join Point-7 over any other brand?

7. You describe yourself as a super enthusiast—how does that passion influence the way you’ll work with riders and dealers?

4. For me, the central figure at Point-7 is, of course, Andrea Cucchi. A former top pro, windsurfer with heart and soul, and simply a great person. Point-7 is a family business that lives and breathes windsurfing! 5. Yes, windsurfing is still popular in Germany and is perceived as a challenging water sport. 7. I believe that you can only inspire someone about something if you know what you’re talking about—I’m a real material nerd (o:.  It therefore gives me great pleasure to provide dealers and riders with the best possible advice.

8. What’s your strategy for growing Point-7 in Germany in the coming years?

10. Finally, what message would you like to send to the German windsurfing community as you step into this new role?

8. Being a reliable and competent partner on equal footing. For me, this means listening to retailers and customers first, responding to their needs, answering questions, and finding a good solution. The basis must always be a fair business partnership. And, of course, presenting and explaining the great products from Point-7.   It is also my goal to get young people away from their cell phones and onto the water, with real, nature-based experiences – that’s what the world needs!
9. For me, the AC1 is my personal favorite – on a good day when everything fits, being able to push yourself to your personal limit with maximum power and performance…

8. Ein verlässlicher und kompetenter Partner auf Augenhöhe sein. Dazu gehört für mich: den Händlern und Kunden erst einmal zuhören, auf ihre Bedürfnisse eingehen, Fragen beantworten und eine gute Lösung finden. Basis muss immer eine faire Geschäftspartnerschaft sein. Und natürlich die tollen Produkte von Point-7 präsentieren und erklären.   Zudem ist es mein Ziel, die Jugend weg vom Handy rauf aufs Wasser zu bringen, mit echten, naturnahen Erlebnissen – das ist das was die Welt braucht!
9. Für mich ist das AC1 der persönliche Favorit – an einem guten Tag an dem alles passt, mit maximaler Power und Leistung an sein persönliches Limit gehen zu können…

Ich freue mich darauf, Euch kennen zu lernen und bin super happy und stolz als Teil von Point-7 dazu beizutragen, in Deutschland möglichst viele für den Windsurfsport zu begeistern und die Latte für maximalen Spaß weiter nach oben zu legen.
