Domination at the Turkish Championship

The legendary spot Alacati in Turkey hosted this years Turkish Championship, and as usual, the spot delivered conditions for a big fleet of hungry racers, and make no mistake, the level at the Turkish Championship is high!

After falling off the PWA world tour, we havent heard much from Alacati, but looking at the images, we are left with great desires to come back and race at this spot with smooth winds and flatwater blasting paradise conditions for all windsurfers, mixed with great atmosphere.

After five eliminations, the womens podium was all Black Team riders with 2016 vice world champion Lena Erdil taking the win ahead of Fulya Ünlü and Cagla Kubat. The mens podium was topped by Bora Kozanoglu, a long time legend of Alacati, showing he´s still god the speed and skills to be ahead of the pack.

We got in touch with Lena Erdil to hear how she felt coming back to Alacati, her gear and upcoming plans.

Back in Alacati. How was it to race again at this spot?
It was awesome ! I forgot just how flat this spot is ! I wish we could have a pea event here again in the future. I think to watch slalom action this is one of the most exciting spots!

What gear were you using?
We had medium and light wind racing with 7.0 and 97 and 117 and 7.9. ! Was super happy with my kits wind range specially with my 7.9 in sometimes super light winds.

Do you feel ready for the next PWA event in Denmark?
Yes I’m ready, and excited. Its been a long tie now since Japan and there we didn’t even get to race much..
SO I am crossing all fingers I have that we will finally get some good conditions so we can have a proper fight in the Ladies division

Congratulations to all our riders!
