OVERVIEW
SONIC REFLEX MAST F100 COMMITED TO FLY.
DOES A FOIL MAST ABSORB CHOP?
NO.
DOES THE PROFILE, OUTLINE, LEACH LINE OF A FOIL SAIL LOOK LIKE A NORMAL FIN SAIL?
NO.
DOES A FOIL SAIL HAVE THE SAME PRESSURE AS A FIN SAIL?
NO.
These are the tough, non-negotiable facts about foil sailing. And they all lead to the same conclusion: NO.
At Point-7, we don’t deal in compromises. If you want the absolute best performance from your foil sails, you need dedicated foil masts. We’ve developed a line of masts designed specifically to enhance the performance of Point-7 foil sails—not some generic solution that does a disservice to your ride.
We understand foil sailing is a completely different game compared to traditional fin sailing. That’s why our masts are engineered to push the limits, giving you maximum control, efficiency, and speed in every condition.
For those who demand unmatched precision and zero compromises in their performance, Point-7 foil masts are the only choice. Anything less? It’s just a waste of your time.

WHY THIS MAST:
A foil sail is smooth over water, and the mast doesn’t need the reflex of a slalom sail.
What it needs is stability. Stability that enhances the rig’s balance, giving you the control and power you need to master the foil.
The way a foil sail is cut leaves no room for a back hand—and if the mast can follow this characteristic, it will expand the sail’s range to its full potential.
Let’s be clear: foil sails and slalom sails are not the same. The luff lengths are different, which means the reinforcements need to follow the luff curve—a precise design that maximizes performance in every section of the sail.
A foil mast is engineered to be stiffer in the IMCS, locking in the forward profile of the sail, which drastically reduces the power in the back hand. This is the exact opposite of a fin sail, where the focus is on maximizing that back-hand pressure for control.
At Point-7, we don’t just create products. We engineer solutions that optimize your performance—and for foil sailing, that means stability, precision, and uncompromising control. If you’re serious about foil, don’t settle for anything less.
COMPATIBILITY:
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU USE A FOIL MAST IN A FIN SAIL?
The result is clear: disaster.
When you throw a foil mast into a fin sail, the profile shifts. The power point moves forward, and the back hand pressure drops. On the water, this means the sail will feel dead—you’ll lose the ability to push the power to the fin to accelerate. Not only that, but stability takes a massive hit, and your wind range gets compromised. The sail will become stiffer, unresponsive, and less reactive. You’ll lose performance in both light and strong winds. Point-7 strongly advises against using a foil mast on a fin sail. Don’t make this mistake.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU USE A FIN MAST IN A FOIL SAIL?
While the sail might work decently in lighter winds, once the wind picks up, it’s game over.
When the wind strengthens, the backhand power increases. This, combined with the lack of stability from the fin mast, means your foil won’t perform at its peak. The wind range will shrink, and the stability—already fragile—will get even worse in both strong and mild conditions.
However, if you don’t want a dedicated mast and are looking for something temporary, a fin mast can still be used. But don’t expect top-tier performance. For serious foil performance, Point-7 recommends a dedicated foil mast—there’s no substitute for it.

OUR MASTS
Most masts may look the same, but they’re anything but identical.
While the curve or IMCS numbers might match, the performance on the water will be dramatically different. Why? Because they’re produced by different manufacturers, using different machinery, materials, climates, and technology. Once downhauled into a sail, that’s when the true differences show up.
Your mast is the backbone of your windsurfing sail—it’s not just an accessory; it’s an essential part of your rig. Just like a tailor-made suit, it’s meant to fit perfectly and enhance your performance.
Most masts on the market are labeled as having a constant curve, but that’s just a general term to describe the basic shape. What truly matters is the curve percentages of the top and bottom sections, the materials, shapes, and reflex—details that vary dramatically from one sail brand to another, and often kept secret.
Point-7 doesn’t deal in secrets. We design masts with the exact values that optimize performance in each condition. The most efficient rig? It’s an integrated system—sail and mast working together in perfect harmony. If you want performance without compromise, it’s time to upgrade to the only rig that truly works as one.
