SLASH | Freestyle Development Concept

The Slash is the ultimate evolution of freestyle sails, born straight from the 4-mark PWA and EFPT arenas. Freestylers may be young and crazy—but the development behind their sail? Wild. Wildly professional.
Freestyle is radical. The PWA now runs heats with a maximum of two competitors on the water—because judging more than one at a time is impossible. Every detail counts. Every move matters. Winning can come down to 0.01 points. And the sail must be perfect down to the millimeter. We’ve felt that pain ourselves—Jacopo Testa lost a title by 0.01 points and finished Vice World Champion. But the Slash? It has already claimed a PWA title and multiple EFPT titles.
Developing a freestyle sail demands precision equal to a fully cambered race sail. It must deliver power, control, pop, stability, and responsiveness, while letting the rider rotate, switch stance, and duck the sail perfectly. Testers don’t just ride—it’s a science. They bring photos, videos, and detailed feedback, showing exactly how the sail deforms or reacts during each move. One proto versus another—every millimeter matters. They are fussier than slalom riders, and we love it. This is freestyle development at its finest.
Each size of the Slash is treated individually, because conditions vary wildly from light to strong wind. Yet the core concept remains: Power. Control. Stability. Pop. Acceleration. Reactivity. Firmness. Big sails in light wind must explode with power. Small sails in strong wind must stay fully controllable.
To achieve this, we applied Kevlar structural bands to reduce deformation and allow the sail to snap back faster. The result? Reactivity almost doubled, moves executed at higher speed, and rotations become smoother and easier.
This year, the Q-Bond version takes it further: lighter, faster, and more reactive than ever. Not just for triple moves—but moves beyond. A level of performance that others simply cannot match.
The Slash isn’t just a sail. It’s a weapon. A tool to dominate the freestyle arena.
