AC-3 FREERACE 3 CAM | The Development Concept
3 Cam Freerace Beast
The freerace sail that rewrites the rules. Born from the AC-1 LTD, tuned down to suit 95% of riders who want to race hard without needing pro-level fitness. Three cams deliver locked-in drive, insane acceleration, and stability across all wind ranges. PWA-proven—fast enough for top 5 at Fuerteventura, yet friendly enough for weekend warriors.
In the past, the choice was simple. You had the full race sail, or a freeride sail with 3 cams that pretended to be a race sail. But things have changed.
From 2024, we realized something clear: once a rider decides to rig 3 cams, the goal is speed. Not comfort cruising. Not compromise. Pure speed. That’s why we took the AC-1 racing machine to its absolute peak and created a version that delivers the same DNA with easier handling. Not watered down—refined. Proof? In 2025, Taty Frans took the AC-3 into PWA Fuerteventura and finished in the top 5. Enough said.
Here’s the truth. The AC-1 LTD is a monster, built for pros who can handle brutal power with elite fitness and flawless technique. But that much raw force will crush 95% of windsurfers after a few runs. Until now, there was no proper easier race sail for the majority of riders who still want uncompromised performance. The AC-3 fills that gap. It’s built for the weekend racer, the long-distance addict, the speed hunter who wants to destroy their friends without destroying their body. If the AC-1 is for those who blame themselves for not winning, the AC-3 is for those who just want to win—period.
The difference is surgical and simple. Power in a racing sail comes from the width of the mast sleeve. The wider the sleeve, the more front-loaded drive it delivers, locking the board down but demanding huge physical input. By reducing the AC-3’s sleeve width by 23%, we hit the sweet spot. The drive is still lethal, but now it’s controllable. The sail feels light, balanced, and effortless in every direction—on the course, in long-distance battles, or when you’re just blasting with your GPS.
And that’s the trick. Nothing else has changed. The AC-3 and AC-1 LTD share the same body, the same bones, the same racing soul. Only the sleeve makes the difference. But that one detail changes everything.
With massive wind range, the AC-3 makes quivers smaller. No need for sizes bigger than 8.8. It planes early, pulls hard, and keeps control deep into stronger winds. Special sizes like the 8.2 and 7.3 are tuned perfectly with 460 SDM masts, giving lighter handling without sacrificing drive. This is freerace without compromise.
The AC-3 isn’t a toned-down toy. It’s a race sail built for real riders—95% of windsurfers who want to go fast, every session, without limits.
