FEATURES

DESIGNED FOR

Whether it’s foil or fin, the most important is to get on the water and have fun. The F1e is the perfect balanced sail to have great performance both when using a foil or fin under your board. Once you decide between the wave-slalom model or slalom model.

BULLET POINTS

  • Designed for foiling up to 16knots from zero.
  • Designed for fin from 13 knots to 21 knots.
  • The only big sail needed if you foil for fun.
  • Early planning and easy handling.
  • 7 battens and 2 bottom cams on the 7.6 and 8.5
  • 5 battens and 1 bottom cam on the 5.4 and 6.4
THE CONCEPT

Developing a sail able to satisfy all needs on a foil under 16 knots and blasting on a fin from 13 knots up to 21 knots. You need to choose between the type of foiling and windsurfing you like and according to your weight for the right size and model type.

  • 6.4 and 8.4 Slalom: a full slalom sail designed to blast on any free slalom to slalom board, both for fin and foil. When the sail starts to become too big on the foil, it will spin like a proper slalom sail on the fin.

  • 5.4 and 6.4 Wave-slalom: The revolution of bump & jump freestyle wave designed to do tricks both on fin and foil on freestyle to free wave boards Blasting with your freestyle wave board at high speeds in stronger winds and enjoy saw basic jumping up to looping, and nice board carving. Imagine having a bit more drive below, a small cam, which pushes to have the extra power, stability and takes you to do all this which much more stability and control. Having a sail that pulls close to a size bigger, holds wind like a size smaller. 6.4 can also be used on free race or slalom boards.
MATERIALS
    1. 5mil Anti UV- X-ply base panel for protection from accidents.
    2. Slalom Model: 4mil Anti UV X-ply laminate for high reactivity. Wave Slalom Model: 5 mil Anti UV X-ply laminate for light weight.
    3. X-ply alternate batten pockets for lighter weight and reflex
    4. Lower Dacron wide sleeve for extra power and comfort. Two cams for maximum drive a butter rotation.
    5. Anti-UV transparent grey window to have a 100% Anti UV-Monofilm sail. All our Ply, X-ply, and Scrims monofilm are produced in the Unites States.
SAILS AREAS
  1. A. 2 or 1 XXL cams and a wide sleeve under the boom for extra stability and power for the foil, and control in strong fin wind. The 8.4 has a third cam over the boom and wide sleeve too.B. Over the boom, the sleeve shrinks down to a pure no-cam. Easy as a wave sail to uphaul, or water start. No water can fill up the lower wide sleeve and does not create any heavier leverage and quick maneuvering. (Except 8.4)C. The top of the sail has a smaller head for more stability in stronger wind. Light feel in handling and has a slight opening all the way to the top to release wind.D. Leach opening is more closed to kill back hand both useful in light wind foil and medium to high wind fin board use.E. The base will fit the fin stance for both fin and foil.
ON THE WATER

Feel as great as any of our fin sails when used with normal windsurfing boards in medium to high wind. They have been designed to fit the foil, but without sacrificing the stance on windsurfing board. 1 cam the 2 smaller sizes and 2 cams on the 7.4 and 3 cams on the 8.4 size. The cams in both cases are under the boom to give drive and stability to the foil, as well as control when powered up in windsurfing. Reduced mast sleeve size over the boom makes the sail light for flying, and comfortable on a fin when maneuvering. The short boom and high aspect reduce the back hand power when foiling, and this bring the sail to be enjoyable also in stronger wind when windy.

DEVELOPED AND DESIGNED BY

The Point-7 Black Team. A team of professional sailors and designers who have proved themselves by designing the winning PWA tittle sails in Slalom, Waves and Freestyle.

DEVELOPED TARGET

The F1e sits in the Point-7 range as the recreational sail for both foiling and fin.  Designed specifically for fun and user-friendliness, but at the same time giving the extra edge for both uses. Having to work on a foil and on fin, you would think the sails to be compromises, but thanks to the smart set up, and wind range they will be used in, the sail will outperform any expectations.

RIGGING

The F1e having the cams, need to have the mast inserted over the cams in the mast sleeve. Downhaul 14cm to the end. Place the boom head and pull the clew. Place the cams on the mast, and pull the downhaul down to the foil settings, or 3cm for the fin setting.

Introducing a total 100% ANTI UV-RAY monofilm windsurfing sail

All our Ply, X-ply and Scrim monofilm are produced in the Unites States including the new 7548 Yellow. The less the transparent the monofilm, the more they will last in the sun. Just like our Black, our new Yellow monofilm, is also not transparent, and darker the colour the longer it will shield the material from the UV rays.

What damages the monofilm is not the heat, but the UV-Rays. These go through the monofilm, cooking the material, with the result that it will become stiffer and brittle. Our monofilm is built in layers with inside the coloured anti UV glue, which blocks completely the UV rays, compared to transparent monofilm.

RDM-i

RDM-I: Reduce Diameter- Inverted.

Once you take out the mast from its mast bag, do not be thinking that something is wrong. The ferrule is part of the top, and not part of the bottom anymore. Therefore, the rdm is now being called RDM-I. After testing with our wave team, the masts, we have discovered that landing hard flat or nosedive jumps, was creating extra stress to the top, where the ferrule would enter it. By having the ferrule being part of the top, the stress is taken out and the tops do not suffer the extra stress that could bring in the worst case to breakages. We have decided to clean up our RDM-I range by offering 2 very distinctive models. The K87 and the K97. 87% carbon mast to bring a durable mast with the highest carbon % possible. A 100% carbon mast is the K97, but with extra reinforcements to give the extra durability to the normal 100%, making itself a 97% carbon mast. A new rubber cap at the joints, to clean up the inside part of the mast from dirt, while uniting the top to the base. Available sizes:  K97 | Carbon 97% | 300, 340, 370, 400, 430 K87 | Carbon 87% | 340, 370, 400, 430

Carbon + Pro Boom

699,00949,00
The first target from the Point-7 Black Team when developing a boom is the curve. This is not about having a curve from the new generation as many might call it. It’s about having a curve which allows your front and back arm to sit in a natural ergonomic position while sailing, automatically positioning the sail at the right angle for the wind to enter and exit the sail. This position varies with the wind strength and windsurfing discipline, so each boom size needs to be developed accordingly.

YOUR REVIEWS

Send us your opinion for others to know.

I bought a Point 7 F1 Hybrid 7.4. The conditions allowed me to so that I could use it in foil and fin mode afterwards. I have to say that I was bluffed on both surfaces:

  • In foil with 12 knots, I was pleasantly surprised by its smoothness and maneuverability.
However, it remained powerful and absorbed reefing without destabilizing me or the board.
  • Then the wind picked up to 18 knots. And that’s when I fully realized its fin potential. It was a real eye-opener! What a pleasant surprise! Powerful without tearing your arms off or feeling any jolts, especially in the oversteer which it absorbs and manages, unlimited progressive acceleration, comfortable, homogeneous and stability.

It had been a very long time since I’d had such a magical time on a windsurfer : what osmosis with the equipment, what a perfect combo, what simplicity! I was really happy. I don’t think I’ve ever gone that fast on a windsurf : great board/sail combination! Even when I opened the sail, it kept chirping : as if she wanted to continue! I’m very pleased with this acquisition and can’t wait to try it again. What’s more, it’s beautiful, with excellent finish and construction. You and your team could be proud of the work you’ve done. I’d recommend it.
