Vincent Langer 27 years old jumps back on black. Winner of last German Championship overall title, Vincent Langer is now already in Tenerife with the rest of the Black Team training. Vincent has finished his studies and will take this year to focus also on international events. We are proud to have Vinci back on the Black Team.
Within the Black team we have several world class formula sailors such as Alberto Menegatti and Andrea Cucchi who respectively have won the Youth World Title and the Master World title and with both ranked in the top at 5 of many international events over the years.
Jordy Vonk is one of the new generation slalom sailor from the Netherland. Good looking blond boy of over 190 tall, bulding up his muscles for next season. He took part at the PWA tour this year, obtaining some good results in some of the eliminations, such as fifth in Sylt.
Tobi Ullrich wins the Speed Kini 2013 organized by the windsurfing shop Hang Five. Marcus Purwitzer came directly in second place, both using the AC-1 2K13. Congratulations boys!
This is how my day started few days ago practicing and testing my slalom gear with Xavier, during my second session in the afternoon with Miguelito I had the slalom sailing worst wipe out of my life dislocating my shoulder, messed up some ligaments and muscles, I had to sail back in to the beach for about 10 minutes, worst pain ever!
Many still don’t know where the name AC-1 derives from. However it’s nothing too elaborate but simply the initials and sail number of Andrea Cucchi put together. Point-7 founder, head of development, team manager and the man who last year decided to create a group of young professionals and have them to train together under the name BLACK TEAM.
Andrea in 2013 created the team to prove that a team does have a place in windsurfing and can help riders to train more effectively and achieve better results than when training individually as has been in the norm for the last many years in our sport.
How many of us dream to experience new adventures, which takes us past our own personal limitations to feel truly alive and grow as a person who has seen past the standard day and really lived in the moment? We all do, but Ron is one of those persons who doesn’t dream his dreams but lives them. One of these dreams had for a long time been to break the windsurf record for crossing the North Sea, departing from the UK, finishing on the North West Coast in The Netherlands. A journey which in a straight line is 105 nautical miles and which to break the record would need to be done in less than 7 hours and 56 minutes. A journey of heavy swells, changing conditions and cold as the right period which offers the best possible wind conditions would be in the autumn months.
Bruno Martini from the Black Team, at the age of 20, wins the last Italian Championship Tour event! In third and fifth position other two Black Team riders, Andrea Rosati and Malte Reuscher. The event took place in the ligurian coast at Albisola. 15 to 20 knots offshore winds gave the chance to run 3 full eliminations. Do you know Bruno? So the season ended, I spent a few days at home to surf, relax and spend time with the family that I hardly ever see and was off again. This time to Warsaw to try to rescue my university situation. I got expelled before the summer as the last time I was there, was in January – too much, even for individual rules of studying!
